Contact / Work with Me

Thank you for your interest in connecting. Because I work within a large health system, the best way to reach me depends on who you are and what you’re looking for.The contact form on this site is intended for professional collaboration requests, not for clinical questions or urgent concerns.

Patients & Families: Questions About Care

If you’re here because you or someone you love is dealing with hearing loss or tinnitus, I’m glad you found your way to this page.

If you are a current or future UCSF patient:

  • To schedule, cancel, or change an appointment, please use the UCSF patient portal or the phone number listed for your UCSF clinic on the UCSF Health website.
  • To ask a medical question about your care, please send a secure message through the UCSF patient portal so it can be routed to the right clinician and included in your medical record.

If you are not receiving care at UCSF:

I’m not able to offer individual medical guidance or second opinions to people outside UCSF through this site. You may find it helpful to explore the EARS patient education hub, where we’ve collected trustworthy, plain-language information about hearing and tinnitus that you can discuss with your own clinician.

For everyone:

I cannot provide individual medical advice, make diagnoses, offer second opinions, adjust treatment plans, or respond to urgent clinical concerns by email or through this website. Messages are not monitored for emergencies.

  • If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency department.
  • For non-urgent questions about your own care, please contact your clinician or clinic directly through their established channels.

Professionals, Trainees & Organizations: Collaboration and Speaking

If you are a clinician, researcher, trainee, or organization interested in working together, I welcome inquiries related to:

  • Program development or implementation in hearing and tinnitus care
  • Health system or institutional partnerships focused on hearing and tinnitus services
  • Educational initiatives, courses, and curriculum design
  • Collaborations related to clinical trials or research in hearing and tinnitus care
  • Speaking engagements (e.g., grand rounds, conferences, workshops)
  • Advisory or consulting work related to audiology services and tinnitus care
    • (Formal consulting or advisory arrangements are typically coordinated through UCSF processes.)

Trainees and early-career clinicians are also welcome to reach out about educational initiatives, talks, or training programs rather than individual one-on-one career counseling. If you are a UCSF trainee, the best first step is usually through your program’s existing channels for mentorship or rotation planning.

For collaboration inquiries, please reach out through my UCSF Profile and briefly include (1–3 sentences each is plenty):

  1. Who you are and your organization
  2. The type of collaboration or request
  3. Any key timelines or dates

UCSF colleagues may also contact me through internal channels; external partners can use the contact form or email on this site. I review collaboration requests periodically and respond as my clinical, research, and leadership schedule allows. I may not be able to accept all invitations, but I do read and appreciate them.

A Note on Email & Responses: What I Can and Can’t Do

Emails are useful for logistics and professional collaboration, but they are not appropriate for personal medical care or detailed individual advice.

  • I’m not able to provide individual clinical opinions, case reviews, or in-depth career counseling by email.
  • For questions about your own health, the safest and most effective route is always your treating clinician or health system’s secure channels.

If your message is about collaboration, speaking, or organizational work, I’ll do my best to respond or direct you to an appropriate contact.

Thank you for your interest in this work, and for the care you’re providing in your own setting and community.
